Like previous years, the CC AIR Biker Friends, have taken up the challenge to organize a charity BBQ. This year the Child cancer support organization of Saar was selected to receive all profit and donations. Already in April this year the first preparations started to make this event a success again. Many volunteers, who‘s highly appreciated unexhausted support and commitment that is worth mentioning, made this charity event a big success. In the beautiful morning weather of the third July the event started with a 170 km motorbike tour, where experienced leaders of the CC Air Biker Friends guided 65 bikes of different types and brands to enjoy the beautiful sceneries of the Palatinate Forest. After 5 hours the massive group arrived with some delay in pouring rain at the Grill location. Here we should mention the bike accident of the young American girl that turned out better then what the first impressions left to expect. The Belgian forces stationed on the Ramstein Airbase made their facilities available free of charge, to avoid further costs for the event. Due to the heavy rain the event could not take place outside like planned and most activities were moved inside. Only a part of the planned games could go through which nevertheless ensured great entertainment for all. A real biker party should not go without a Live-Band. The Band “Sergeant”, known for their numerous performances in the area, where prepared to strongly reduces their price for the good cause. The experienced musicians created the right atmosphere with their professional performance. We should not forget our sponsors who took part in this event. Harley Davidson Bruchmühlbach displayed a custom design bike that got the deserved admiration. The bad weather could not stop Honda G. Wacker from Homburg Einöd to bring two bikes for display. Eddie Kane from Harley Davidson Military Sales (Vogelweh) had to cancel his personal attendance due to medical reasons, but nevertheless offered lots of articles for our raffle which raised good money for the donation. In all the day was a big success for the volunteers, sponsors and guests that came from close and far. At the end we managed to raise 1500 Euro. The official donation will be done on the 5the of September by a delegation of the CC AIR Biker Friends who will visit the Open Door of the Kinderkrebshilfe Saar at the Hospital in Homburg.

Friday morning at 10.00 Hrs 10 members (8 pilots and 2 duo ‘s) departed at the Lemon Lot for a ride to the International Motor meeting in Hoeselt (BEL). Even though the weather forecast wasn‘t looking that good, we stayed dry the whole ride. Our first stop was on top of a mountain with a beautiful view over the vineyards of Bernkastel-Kues. From there on we rode to Wittlich where we had our lunch break at a Greek restaurant. Straight away after we entered the restaurant, the waiter offered us a welcome drink called ouzo. Because we still had to ride about 180km, we wisely did not drink it except Scapman and BladeRRine. When we were outside ready to continue the ride, Scapman realized that he had left his helmet inside (did the ouzo already damage his brains?) The second short stop we had was at Spangdahlem. From there we went over some nice roads trough the Eifel till the Formula 1 track at Francorchamps. That‘s where I decided to take the highway and around 17.30 Hrs we arrived at Hoeselt. Later in the evening Vivi and Sabine joined us. We saw a great performance of the cover groups Anouk and Gunz & Roses. We also met the members from MCC Swansea Wales. At that point we already new it would be hard to become first, because they where there with approx. 25 members. Next morning after breakfast we took off for the Tour. The first 15 km it was slightly raining, but later on it stayed dry, fortunately, because the roads were not that good with lot of speed bumps and cobblestones. We were all a bit disappointed about the tour, and at 17.00 we arrived at the MC Hoeselt clubhouse, where we had a few drinks. We decided to have dinner and meet again around 21.30 in the tent. The MCC Swansea members were already having a big party, and that‘s where we joined in. The pictures will explain a lot; maybe we need some censoring? At midnight it was time for the price awards. This year we gained one place so we became second place. Winner, as expected where the guys and girls from MCC Swansea Wales. Sunday morning at 10.30 we took off for the ride back. In Herforst we stopped for lunch at a hamburger restaurant. Peter was hungry and ordered a king size hamburger. Michael, Carver and I joined him, but where surprised by the size of it when it arrived. After we finished that, I was feeling more for a nap, than riding another 120km. At 16.00 Hrs we finally arrived at the Maxi and that‘s also where the rain started to fall, so we ended being wet after all. Nevertheless it was a nice but tiring week-end. Up to next year and maybe first place (but then we need all members to be present ;-).

We have our first members that reached the 10.000 Km in clubrides. Carver as one of the most active members reached this “magic boarder” first and received the Golden Badge. M-Wood had now as the second the honour to receive the Golden Badge. Both events were celebrated with the necessary drinks! The next ones are reaching the 10K shortly

13 pilots (11 male and 2 female) signed in for our second Carting-competition at the GO! Indoor carting track at Erlenbach. Who would become this years Carting-champion? M_Wood and Hotrocks could not defend themselves due to medical problems. Are they getting old? Anyway...

Our new member "Smurf" acted as a professional photographer, he even climbed on top of the control tower to take some nice action pictures. Phil had a little surprise for us: he showed up in a complete Racing-overall. Could it be that he’s the mysterious Stig from BBC’s Top Gear? Who knows?
After two 10 minutes qualification heats, following pilots made it to the final: Beenie, Carver, Dietrik, Phil, Trond, Scapman and Nico who were the fastest in the qualification heat.
I must admit, some funny things happened in the final.
Scapman fought out a heavy fight with Phil. Beenie was lucky she didn’t get a ticket for parking in the middle of the track and Carver even ignored the bribed Marshall waving a black flag (did this have anything to do with Beenie’s parking)?
Carver, in the lead, could not be distracted with a black flag and won the race. Dietrik ended second and Nico third. After a small ceremony, we all went to the bar for a drink while analysing the race. That’s where M_Wood and I came in action. The owner of the track and a friend challenged us for a game of table football. Their Big Mistake. After three sets they had to admit that Belgians are better table football players than Germans. So around 10 o’clock we closed another amusing evening together.
